Getting Into Position: Knowing Your Role in the Kingdom of God

Getting Into Position: Knowing Your Role in the Kingdom of God

What if the frustration you feel in life is not because you are behind… but because you are out of position? The Kingdom of God was never designed for comparison or imitation. Every person has a role, and when we discover who we truly are in Christ, we begin to walk in the grace assigned specifically to us.

Learning to Forgive Yourself: A Journey of Grace, Growth, and God’s Mercy

You can apologize, grow, and change, yet still hold your past against yourself. Self-forgiveness is learning how to loosen that grip. It is understanding that your worst moment does not disqualify you from healing, and that becoming whole requires releasing who you used to be.

The Power of Sisterhood: When God Uses Friendship to Shape Purpose

There is something sacred about the friendships God places in our lives, especially the kind of sisterhood that does not simply walk beside us in good seasons, but also carries us through difficult ones, stretches us toward growth, and calls us higher when we forget who we are created to be.

When it comes from God, it is never accidental, never random, and never based on coincidence. True sisterhood reflects God’s intentional handwriting woven carefully throughout our story.

Some of the most life-changing moments in our lives do not come from stages, platforms, or applause, but from conversations with friends who love us enough to pray for us, believe in us, and remind us of our purpose when we feel tired, discouraged, or unsure of ourselves.

God often uses friendships as instruments of alignment, where one woman’s obedience becomes another woman’s courage, one friend’s faith becomes another friend’s breakthrough, and one person’s “yes” creates a chain reaction that shifts the entire direction of the group.

That is the power of sisterhood, because when God brings the right women together, motivation multiplies, dreams become shared, purpose becomes contagious, and suddenly no one is walking alone, everyone is sharpening one another, and everyone is rising together.

The Bible reminds us in Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 that two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor, and if one falls, the other can help her up, which reflects what real friendship is meant to look like: not rooted in competition, comparison, or insecurity, but grounded in collaboration, covering, and genuine love.

So often, we pray for blessings, opportunities, and open doors, yet we forget to pray for the people who will walk with us through those doors, because the ultimate gift in life are people. Even the biggest moments would feel empty if we had no one to share them with, because what is winning, achieving, or succeeding if there is no one beside you to celebrate with you? Could you imagine winning the Super Bowl and having no one in the stands, no one in your corner, and no one waiting to hug you when it is over? The true gift will always be the people God sends.

That is why it is so important to pray for good friends, for friends who will point you back to God, protect your heart, challenge you to grow, encourage your calling, and remind you who you are when you forget. Only God can assemble that kind of circle, because only He knows who can handle your calling, who will steward your story well, who will walk with you into purpose without trying to take your place, and who will love you without condition or competition.

Sisterhood is one of God’s greatest gifts, because it is where healing happens, where courage is restored, where dreams are watered, and where purpose is activated through community and connection.

When women come together in faith, humility, and love, something shifts in the atmosphere, walls begin to fall, chains are broken, confidence rises, and vision becomes clear in ways that could never happen alone.

And in those moments, you realize that you are not just living life, but walking in calling, not just surviving but thriving, and not just building friendships, but cultivating family, ministry, and legacy.

I’ll leave you with this question. Have you prayed for your friendships with the same faith and intention that you pray for your dreams?

XO,

Whitney Mariel

Celebrating 10 years of the blog

A Decade of Faith, Friendship, and Following God

Ten years ago, we made a promise that would quietly shape the course of our lives, our friendship, and everything Whitney Mariel™ would become. It wasn’t a business plan, a strategy, or a carefully outlined vision for success, but a covenant rooted in faith, trust, and obedience. We promised each other and more importantly, we promised God that we would trust Him in all that we did and allow Him to lead every step of the journey.

In 2014, we were roommates in Nashville, sharing life side by side, dreaming boldly, praying, and trusting God with futures we could not yet see clearly. Shortly after, God led us from Nashville to North Carolina, and what felt like a major step of faith at the time became the launching point for everything that followed.

Shortly after, the BFF Blog was born, but before a single word was written or a single photo was shared, we made another sacred decision. We dedicated this platform to God and made a covenant that Whitney Mariel™ would always exist to glorify Him. We became a force for unity, reminding the world that we are better together. We committed to honoring Him through our friendship, our storytelling, and our willingness to show up authentically, trusting that if He was guiding this journey, He would use it far beyond what we could imagine.

Over the last ten years, this journey has given us more memories, adventures, and stories than we could ever count. It has taken us places we never expected, introduced us to people who changed our lives, and allowed us to share seasons of joy, growth, laughter, motherhood, and transformation with all of you. At the same time, it has required a level of faith that stretched us deeply, asking us to trust God in ways that felt uncomfortable, refining, and sometimes even breaking.

We have learned what it truly means to surrender our lives for His purpose and to walk in obedience, not just in the big moments, but in the smallest details. This journey has taught us that faith is not always loud or easy, but often quiet, steady, and rooted in choosing God again and again, even when the path ahead feels uncertain.

Whitney Mariel™ is more than a blog or a brand. It represents unity in a world that often feels divided. It stands for the sacred act of carrying each others burdens, never leaving the other one to walk alone. It stands for courage, and choosing to see the other side we were never taught. Its choosing truth over systems and speaking up even when it cost you something.

Coming from different walks of life, God has anointed us to lead with love, and trust Him fully with the story He is writing. This friendship has become a force of unity, encouragement, and hope, reminding us that when two people walk hand in hand with God, their friendship becomes a living testimony of what is possible when He is invited into every part of the journey.

None of this would be what it is without you. Thank you for walking alongside us, for supporting us, praying for us, and loving us through every season. We see you, we feel your love, and we are more grateful than we could ever express. Ten years in, we are standing in awe of all that God has done, and with full hearts, we trust Him for all that He is still going to do. We truly believe the best is yet to come.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

— Proverbs 3:5–6

With so much love and gratitude,

Whitney Mariel™
